So Oliver has croup. Last night my father in law and I packed Oliver in the car (Berto was at work) and took him to Urgent Care. (Side note for those of you that live in Queen Creek there is this amazing Pediatrics Urgent care in Gilbert called Good Night Pediatrics, they are open from 5 pm to 5 am 365 days a year. I highly recommend them). Anyway, the poor little guy wasn't really showing any signs of being sick just a slight fever yesterday morning. I thought it was teething. Well, by about 6:30 pm Oliver had this very nasty cough and a rattle in his chest. It seemed to come out of nowhere. I watched it for a while and then decided to call our insurances nurse hotline and talk to a nurse. She didn't really think I needed to go in but something told me I should anyway. So I asked Berto's dad to drive us so I could sit in the back with Oliver.
The hard part was having to hold my poor screaming baby while he recieved interveinus antibiotics and while he received a breathing treatment through a nebulizer. It was so hard. I was proud of myself for being strong and not crying myself. ( I really wanted to at some points) But I knew it was what he needed. I'm so glad I decided to listen to my instincts and take him in. It would have been a lot worse today if I had waited. Oliver is taking a little nap. A much needed nap... I hope my little baby gets better quick!

It's so sad when a child, especially your own, gets that sick. I really hope he's better very soon. Sorry you had to go through that--it's definitely one of the worst things to have to stand by and watch knowing you can't take away the sickness or sorrow of your own child. Hang in there--I'm sure he'll be back to himself in no time.
WOW!!! that really has got to be the worst thing ever! I'm so sorry & Hope He gets better Quick too!
I hope he gets better soon! Send him my love. Good job staying strong...I am weak and could have never done it.
We had our first babyshower. Amber is ready to pop. How are you guys? I may be texting or calling you guys often to get help...HELP! haha jk.
sorry to hear ollie was sick, Stone has to do a nebulizer twice a day for the next two weeks for a bad sinus infection. I guess we should just lock our kids up all winter long. Hope he feels better!
hey mamma... way to go!! You are way better than we are right now. I get to be injected w/antibiotics everyday (2 more to go:() for pneumonia, Evan has pneumonia and gets this nasty cocktail of meds, and lizzy has an ear infection coupled w/bronchitis. All of this is nothing compared to the croup Abbey had a month ago. Just watching their chest struggle to expand is gut wrenching. And good thing you listened to your instincts. We don't mess around w/ croup since Evan turned blue from it 3 years ago. Too scary. I'll drop you an email soon. Derek leaves for the Navy on Mon, so we are just spending all our time together. He'll come home in June- the week I'm due!!! So I'll be better at calling all my friends and trying to stay sane. All our love...
